eVoting in Ghana

The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the All Nations University College (ANUC) in Koforidua (Ghana) used a digital voting system for its renewal. The introduction of these technologies in developing countries is a major challenge given that the digital divide is an important obstacle to overcome. See a feedback in Ghanaweb with details about some technical problems in the implementation: www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/regional/artikel.php?ID=102770

The ECEG06 Conference includes an interesting paper about these issues: Electronic Voting: Lessons and Guide for Developing Countries. Adegboyega Ojo, United Nations University, International Institute for Software Technology, Macao / Adetunji Adeshina, Independent National Electoral Commission, FCT Abuja, Nigeria / Charles Ayo, Covenant University, Lagos, Niegeria.
